Passport Requirements for Adults
The current Embassy page separates the applicant’s identity record from possession of the physical DNI card. An applicant with a valid DNI can present that document. An applicant who already completed enrollment can use proof of completed enrollment as the published alternative.

If You Have a Valid DNI
Present the original DNI with the appointment confirmation and previous passport booklet. If names, surnames, birth date, or identity number differ across documents, bring the official record that explains the difference when one exists and confirm what correction is needed before the passport appointment.
If Enrollment Is Complete but the DNI Is Pending
Proof of completed enrollment is an expressly published route for the adult passport. This situation should not be grouped with someone who never enrolled. Once enrollment has been completed, the proof can document that the DNI process was carried out even though the physical card has not yet been delivered.
If You Have Neither a DNI nor Completed Enrollment
The Embassy describes enrollment as the process used to register or update identity data with the RNP for Honduran citizens over 18. The listed starting documents are a previous Honduran identity card, Honduran passport, or Honduran birth certificate. A person over 18 who has never requested a DNI must appear with a Honduran witness who can confirm the applicant’s identity.[2]
When enrollment has never been completed or the identity record is unresolved, the case should not be treated as merely a missing physical card. Confirm the enrollment or identity-document step first, then continue with the passport application.
Applicants Under 21
SRECI states that applicants under 21 may apply only for a 5-year passport and that their requirements include birth documentation and the applicable parent-presence or authorization rules.[3] A minor or young applicant should therefore prepare the parent documents and any required authorization before attending.
The Embassy also publishes a separate authorization service through which one or both parents can authorize another person to handle a minor’s passport. The listed documents include valid identification for the parent or parents appearing, identification for the authorized person, and a copy of each minor’s birth certificate.[5]

Passport Delivery Time
SRECI distinguishes between offices with and without a printing center. If the consular office has a printing center, the passport is delivered the same day unless circumstances outside the office prevent it. If the office does not have a production center, the applicant should ask that consulate for its delivery time.
It is therefore no longer accurate to say that there is no general delivery information at all. It is also inaccurate to promise same-day delivery at every U.S. office. The published rule depends on whether the selected consulate can print passports on site and whether an outside disruption affects issuance.
